Transcript from the Episode

You may remember, a couple of episodes back I was doing some reviews of some of the PMS is that have become under my attention. And once I think just needed a bit of a mention and a shoutout. Well, on the back of doing that I had a couple of people reach out to me saying you need to do a review of x y Zed. And one that's been coming to my attention is Bookster. Now. I've been sort of passively chatting to bookster over the last maybe six months. And again, it's one that I've always known was there Kelly from Bookster who was part of the team that we chatted and Kelly has been part of the clubhouse 24-hour rooms that we've done in the past. And so I reached out to her and I said Listen, I think it's time that I have a bit of a demo and just have a little look behind the scenes and just see what you guys are doing. And she was fantastic, gave me access showed me looms, etc. And it's definitely one I want to let everybody know about.

So Bookster is trying to do what so many of our PMS is trying, but failing to be honest. And I think because it's more new work, it's had more of a blank canvas. And what it's able to do is be a lot more flexible and give hosts a lot of the tools that they haven't to fork out and pay extra for. So for example, AirDNA is a pricing tool, it helps you to sort of see what the market is putting out there. Well that is built in. And what I like about it, and I'll show you in a second is the pricing is scaled up. So even if you're starting or if you want something Max, then it has options for you. They've got a really cool API, which I'm looking forward for Boostly websites to be able to link into soon. But also as well, if you don't want to have a secondary website, they do offer custom websites as well, which is very unheard of in the world of PMS. It's so there's there's nice options to check out.

Bookster pricing

I open up constraints at a pricing page, just like what I've been doing with the other channels that we've reviewed, I've gone for like the four or five average property. Now if you compare it in prices with others, it's very reasonable. I think if you're going to go with Bookster I wouldn't be looking at light or pro I'd be spending that extra money and going for the max and I'll show you why in a second. But again, price wise very, very reasonable. So when you look at what you get, and again, you see all this here, most of You don't really need to pay attention to things like your manager acquires that. But automated damage deposits is something that I think is key. One of the hardest things is trying to get how many deposits in on your PMS, and actually having to manually do it and manage sort, etc itself to be automated. I really do like this, this is a big plus point for Bookster. And again, what Kelly did is she showed me the page that is all automated. Basically, this is the page that people keep coming back to us when a guest makes the booking, they get sent to this page all the time checking date, it's basically like a confirmation page, but it's updated in real time, and it keeps people coming back to and that's where they then can submit ID or make a damage deposit at the damage deposit payment after the booking has been made. So it doesn't matter whether they booked for Airbnb or bookings, it always takes them back to here where they make the payment which is, which is crucial and key.

Again, if you look through here, there's loads of stuff that mean cool things, but don't really mean much. But again, I think the one thing I would say is that if you're going to do this, go Max, ignore pro and light and go go for max. One thing that I did like and one thing that I did put here to have a little make sure I mentioned to everybody is that they've got a built-in channel manager. So obviously they will link up to booking, you know VRBO, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, but also as well, they link into some of the more unknown and smaller channels as well which is a cool thing to see.

Now one of the things that I was looking for is that do they link into rentals united Now obviously, we've rentals united, I mentioned this when we review them, is it rentals, you know, it gives you the ability to do so much more with a channel manager. And they do you know, any question that I threw up to Kelly and Bookster they were able to answer, they've also got built-in email integration, which I like. So if for email marketing, they've got so many features, and from what it looks like they're trying to do more and more.

They've got statements reports, all the jazz, and I know they've worked really hard on. So again, I just wanted to give a little tip of the cap Well done, definitely want to check out Bookster. Obviously, there are 1000s of PMS out there. I'm just basically highlighting the many of them come to my door that many of them come to my mind. Notice I'm highlighting the ones that I think people should be definitely checking out when you come to change in your PMS.
