In this episode of The Boostly podcast, I want to share with you a free tool that will help you with your content marketing, moving forward in 2021-2022 and beyond. It is an ideal tool for any short term rental host who is looking to create content for their website that is going to get guests to find them from the search engines.
About Google Suggestions
Now that tool, that free tool is one that everybody can use right now is called Google suggestions. Now, how do you find it, very simple. Go and run a Google search in your area. For example, what is there to do on a rainy day in insert your town or city or county. And basically, what will come up will be tons of blogs. Now, these will be blogs by either an influencer, it'll be by a local content writer, or it will be by somebody that's doing some form of affiliate marketing.
Now, what you can do is you can scroll down, and you can see how popular that topic is. Now, when you go all the way down to the bottom of the first page, at the bottom of it, there will be a section, which is called Google suggestions. And it will give you alternative searches that people are searching for in real-time in your area.
Now, there are fantastic accompanying tools, but it can get kind of technical and you go down that route I love nothing more. But when I'm coming up with content to help host is just to run a search and I'll look to see what other people are searching for. And I'll see how competitive each search is. Now if there's one that is basically not cricket level, and not super popular, there's one in the middle, then that'll be the title and that'll be a blog, or that'll be a video of I'll be a podcast or that'll be x y Zed I create content around.
Now this doesn't have to just limit itself to something that's going to rank well on Google. This could also be something that I could use for inspiration for, say, a social media post. Because if it's something that somebody is searching for and looking at on Google, then you can guarantee that if they see similar sort of content and social media is going to stop the scroll.
Now when it comes to content creation, this is something that hosts they say to me all the time, I haven't got a clue where to get started, when really the best place to get started is right in front of your face. It's something that you're using every single day. So it's Google suggestions, scroll down to the first page of Google and see what it said.
