11th June – New Year’s Resolution Refresh

It’s been 6 months since we all closed our eyes and made a New Year’s resolution.

Some played it safe, and some took it to the extreme; tackle a bad habit, lose a few pounds, finally fix that loose hinge and in some bold cases, become a better person.

While there’s usually an initial rush of excitement to get started, it’s also usually followed by defeat and talks of giving up, which brings to debate… Is it ever too late to refresh your New Year’s Resolution?

17th – Homemade recipes

If there’s one thing you’ll never run out of choice on it's knowing what to eat! From takeaway and ready-made meals to subscription boxes, these days, there’s something to satisfy every tastebud at affordable prices and convenience.

But despite all the options readily available, nothing beats a homecooked meal, influenced by recipes passed down from previous generations. It’s simply unrivalled.

What’s your favourite family recipe?

20th June – DIY

DIY is a great way to save money and bring life back to discarded materials.

A new rack for your summer shoes, a one-of-a-kind sculpture for your home or maybe some more storage options.

Whatever you have laying around, cluttering your home, turn it into an environmentally friendly project instead!

24th June – Learn an instrument

Playing an instrument, of any kind, is an impressive achievement because of the commitment and years of practice it requires.

With that said, learning how to play an instrument doesn’t have to be a daunting and long-winded experience, if you’re clever with the instrument you choose.

  • Ukulele
  • Keyboard
  • Drums

Those are just some of the easiest instruments you can pick up as an adult beginner!

28th June – Random Act of Kindness

Small gestures can really brighten someone’s day, no matter how big or small.

Here are 3 ways you can pay someone back with kindness

  • Let someone take your spot in a queue
  • Buy a warm meal for someone in need
  • Give someone an unexpected compliment

What’s the last act of kindness you received or gave?

Make a scrapbook

The memories we make stay with us forever. We remember the little things like someone’s joyful laugh, the time things went horribly wrong and even the moments that reduced us to tears.

But what about the details in-between? Some things are best captured on camera and what better way to look back on the good times than with a scrapbook!

Gather your best memories all in one place and pass down the scrapbook to the next generation!

Play a board game

Some of the best things about being a child were chasing ice cream vans, hanging in a treehouse, and purposely consuming all the sugary treats in sight for the ultimate sugar rush.

On the quiet and rainy days, however, there was nothing more wholesome than spending the evening huddled around a board game with the family. Who was cheating? Who was playing fair? Nobody knew, and that was all part of the fun.

What was your favourite childhood board game?

Boost your skillset

Developing a new skill doesn’t have to mean learning a new language or picking up a complicated instrument.

As an example, and depending on your goal, you can improve your people skills to boost your career success.

For personal development, why not have a go at problem-solving tasks!

Whichever you decide, remember that it doesn’t have to be an expensive investment either!
