Thinking of going on a self catered holiday?

Here's 5 benefits for choosing self-catering accommodation for your next trip to << location >>;

1. You have lots of space. Instead of being cooped up in a hotel room, you have bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a balcony. It's nice because it feels more like home.

2. Food. Yes an all inclusive is amazing but when you have got a fussy eater on your hands it’s nice to know you can cook food you know they are definitely going to eat.

3. Relaxing evenings. You can put the kids to bed and enjoy the rest of your evening still in the same proximity. Make cocktails in the kitchen, watch TV in the living room, or chat and laugh on the balcony before retiring to your own bedroom for the night.

4. No need to change the routine. Having your own house and not just a room means you can do things you would normally do at home.

5. No dirty clothes. You have a washing machine – one less thing to do when you get home.

We’re here to let you in on a secret: booking directly with a hotel is always the better option. The perks of dealing directly with the hotel far outweigh any “savings” you think you’re getting by booking with an Online Travel Agent, despite what their ads may scream.

Here's four reasons why booking direct should be your first choice;

1. Better Prices
While most people think they’re getting a great deal on a <<hotel/B&B/Guesthouse>> with an OTA, these sites are actually not “discount sites.”

2. No Lost Reservations
One of the most common complaints we hear from people about OTAs is that their reservation isn't there once they arrive. Maybe that’s even happened to you. If not, imagine how infuriating that would be!
Avoid taking this risk by booking your stay directly on the <<hotel/B&B/Guesthouse>> own website. You’ll share your personal information and credit card details with the hotel only, and you’ll be sure your reservation won’t get lost.

3. Flexible Terms and Conditions
We’ve all experienced hiccups in our travel plans that have resulted in delayed or even canceled trips. If you book through an OTA, you can forget about getting a refund for any un-stayed nights. Most of these booking sites have a no-refund policy, and they won’t let you cancel or modify your reservation if you have to.
When you book directly with the <<hotel/B&B/Guesthouse>>, you’ll be treated with more flexibility and understanding.

4. Better Rooms, Better Service
Room assignments and special requests are prioritised for those who book directly. So, asking for a room on a higher floor or choosing one or two beds is easier to arrange this way.
Bottom line: for the best room and the best service, book direct.

There is so much more to visiting the beach than just sunbathing. Spades at the ready? Get more out of a day at the shore with these top 3 beach activities.

1. Examine Critters – As the tide goes out, it leaves behind a world of amazing sea life in rock pools, ready to be discovered. Next time you're down by the seaside, fill a bucket with water, grab a net and get ready to dabble. Be sure to search out caves in rocks near your beach too and explore the nooks and crannies – you never know what you might find.

2. Play Games – Get the Frisbee out and challenge the family to a game. Just throwing a Frisbee back and forth between players can be enough to keep kids entertained for a good long while. You can also set up some targets in the sand and see who can throw the Frisbee nearest to them or knock them over.

3. Just Dig – If you’re craving a bit of peace, give the kids a spade each to dig as deep a hole in the sand as possible – the winner is the one with the deepest. Extend your relaxation time even further by getting them to fill the hole with water!
