Domain Access

When your website is on the ready to go live stage, we will be needing access to where your domain is hosted – or in some cases, where your domain’s nameserver is pointing to*.

If you don’t have any domains yet, we suggest you buy one at Namecheap or any other domain hosting companies.

*EXAMPLE – If your domain is being hosted at GoDaddy but the nameserver is pointing to Cloudflare, what we will need is your Cloudflare login access instead, not your GoDaddy.

Domain Hosts Instructions

Provide us login credentials (username and password)

Add us as a Team Member using support@boostly.co.uk with Domain or Admin access

Here’s the instruction guide: https://docs.gandi.net/en/managing_an_organization/teams/managing_team_members.html

NOTE – YOU CAN ALWAYS REMOVE OUR ACCESS OR CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD AFTER WE GET YOUR SITE LIVE IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN PROVIDING ACCESS TO YOUR DOMAIN.

I don't want to give you access to my domain account, how can we proceed?

Inform your project manager or support and they will provide you with the required DNS records needed to perform the following actions:

Here’s the steps on what you need to do:

  1. First, login to your domain hosting account
  2. Go to the domain you want to use for your Boostly Website
  3. Click on DNS Zone or DNS Editor or just DNS (depends on your domain hosting on how they call it)
  4. Check if there’s an A record and CNAME record already for yourdomain.com [¹] (for A record) and www.yourdomain.com (for CNAME record)
  5. If there’s a CNAME record for www.yourdomain.com, please delete it.
  6. And if there’s an A record for yourdomain.com, please edit it.
  7. What you need to do is to change or add our Boostly Server’s IP address to the Value field for both @ and www (yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com)

Here’s how it should look:

Record Type – A Record

Name/Host – @ or leave empty

Value – Our IP address [²]

TTL – Lowest available time [³]

Record Type – A Record

Name/Host – www

Value – Our IP address [²]

TTL – Lowest available time [³]

*

[1] – This is your domain name (eg. boostly.co.uk)

[2] – Please email us first so we can provide you our server’s IP address as we have multiple servers with different IPs

[3] – TTL stands for Time To Live, so we aim to get it live as soon as possible so choose the lowest time available on the choice. If no TTL option is available, ignore/skip this one.
